"Got to play at Jack's 88th
birthday, David Amram, Jonathan Edwards, Bob Martin......humbled
and amazed to be part of such an incredible array of
artists.....it was a special night that I will always treasure"
Alan Crane
"A magical
evening at Kerouac birthday party at Caffe Paradiso. With David
Amram, and so many great readers and musicians. So great to look
around the room and realize how many people were there who are
friends. And the spirit of those gone on including Paradiso
founder Oscar Di Stefano, who said, 'I love this Kerouac town.'"
Meg Smith
"Great show
in Lowell last night. Got to share the stage with Jonathan Edwards
(Sunshine go away today!). Wow, his group was amazing. The
harmonies were incredible. Jonathan is a great guy - he came up
and sang with me on Angel from Montgomery. Pretty cool." Amy Black
"What a memorial night it was - from
start to finish. And Jonathan Edwards...boy can he still play a
tune. Thanks to everyone who contributed." Andy Kaknes
"It was all pretty unreal." Mike Flynn
"Well, I think we did Jack proud on his
88th! ... The night at Paradiso was very special." Steve Edington
DAVID'S RECAP:
"... it was a great night celebrating
Kerouac's 88th birthday with The Red Clay Rascals, a breath of
fresh air (and all of them outstanding singers and musicians)
Jonathan Edwards who was great 40 years ago when we first
crossed paths and is even better today!! And Lowell's own
master songwriter Bob Martin.
Our large jazz group did the first two hours, and then THE
READERS OF JACK'S POETRY joined us as we played some of his
favortite tunes as well as backing up the readings of his
words (as i used to do with Jack 53 years ago)... (continued
at right)
